Top 5 Fall activities for you and your dog...

Fall is almost here and it's the best time of year for you to take advantage of the great outdoors with your dog. Check out the top 5 activities we recommend for you and your dog this season:

5) Take a hike to Dog Lake!

This is a super fun hike located at the Lower Big Water Trailhead in Millcreek canyon. During this season the colors are incredible and the air is crisp with the scent of fall. Your dog can be off leash on this trail and is sure to make many friends along the way. At the end of the hike you'll reach a lake which is usually packed with dogs especially during the weekend. If you're not local to Salt Lake, try picking a dog friendly trail closer to you. :)

4) Photo Shoot

Take advantage of the natural beauty this season and set up a photoshoot with your dog. You can make it a family event and hire a local photographer, or keep it casual with you, your dog, and a selfie stick! Just make sure you pick a gorgeous spot outdoors that really showcases the fall colors!

3) Dog Friendly Patio

Luckily in Salt Lake we have many dog friendly establishments. Our favorite is Spitz in Sugarhouse, they've got good grub and a comfortable dog friendly patio. If you're looking for something more upscale, try Loghaven in Millcreek canyon. Remember to call ahead for a reservation and let them know you need a dog friendly spot - you'll be amazed at the great food and atmosphere of this place. This is a great way to get outside and celebrate fall season!

2) Liberty Park Pool Dog Day

Take a trip with your dog to Liberty Park's outdoor pool on September 8th for an end of summer celebration. For details on this epic doggie swim day, click here

1) Strut Your Mutt

Our favorite dog event of the year happens every October and is a fabulous way to celebrate the season with your dog. A bonus to this event - when you register, you can help raise money to support the efforts of Best Friends or your favorite Utah animal welfare group. For more details on Strut your Mutt click HERE!
